Our Story | Hoover’s Hole Hogs – Heritage Pork Raised Right
Rooted in Tradition. Committed to Quality.
At Hoover’s Hole Hogs, our story is as rich as the land we farm. As a veteran-owned family farm in Natchitoches Parish, Louisiana, we’ve combined a legacy of service with a passion for raising pasture-raised Yorkshire heritage hogs the right way—naturally, humanely, and with deep respect for the animals and the land.
We take pride in carrying on a legacy that spans generations. Founded by Vince Hoover, the farm stands as a testament to tradition, hard work, and a deep-rooted connection to the land and its bounty. That spirit was first instilled by Vince’s grandfather, Eli Hoover, whose simple mantra, “Get up and try ‘em again,” has become a way of life on the farm. Eli’s determination and belief in perseverance laid the foundation that Vince proudly carries forward today. What started as a small family dream has grown into a farm rooted in integrity and a commitment to provide families like yours with premium, flavorful pork you can trust.

Why We Chose Yorkshire Heritage Hogs
We believe Yorkshire heritage hogs represent the gold standard of pork quality. Known for their natural hardiness, gentle temperament, and superior marbling, these hogs produce rich, flavorful meat you simply won’t find in grocery stores. We raise our hogs on open pasture with room to roam, root, and grow at a natural pace—because great taste starts with great care.
Our Commitment to You
When you purchase from Hoover’s Hole Hogs, you’re not just buying pork—you’re supporting a local, veteran-owned family farm dedicated to doing things the right way. From the first day on the pasture to the day you pick up your whole hog, we’re here to offer transparency, personal service, and pork that brings families together around the table. Inspired by Eli Hoover’s example, we believe in showing up every day with passion, purpose, and the determination to “get up and try ‘em again.”
